As a graduate of the University of Virginia (in my humble opinion, one of Thomas Jefferson’s greatest accomplishments), I am always interested in “all things Jeffersonian.”
In honor of the 4th of July, I felt the urge to post this totally hilarious and politically incorrect mark-up of the Declaration of Independence.
It seems college kids have a few follow-up questions/comments for our mighty declaration architect.

This was hilarious–I’m going to show it to my husband. You know, the fellow Wahoo. Who cusses the Ville every time we drive through campus (which is about once a year!), saying, “Darn roads…this needs to be widened, this needs to be repaired, but NO–oh no, Mr. Jefferson’s horse once took a crap there, so now it’s sacred and not to be messed with.”
It’s his biggest complaint about campus.
But he loves it. As do I.
