For my daughter’s 2nd birthday we decided to pack up the family and go to an indoor water park called Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia for the night. Needless to say, there was a lot of celebrating to be done and we were all in the mood for doing it, especially Sweet Pea.
She loved the cake. I just couldn’t figure out why she was licking it instead of shoving it in her face (like her mom).
And then, there was this. My girls and I with our “Mickey Mouse Ears” on our lovely heads. Don’t ask me what I was doing here. Probably trying to figure out the quickest escape route from the chaos. Oh, wait, I have a Reeses Pieces carrot in my hand…that can mean only one thing – I was trying to hide it from my kids before they noticed it was gone so I could devour it later. Ya, I’m that kind of mom!
But at the end of the day, when all was said and done (including the elimination of the Reeses Pieces), I was in such awe of my new little two year old. Yep, there was a whole lot of slobbery kisses and drool (no, not me – the toddler!) – the best kind!
