Celebrating the Holidays by Giving Back – Thank you for your Children’s Hospital Donations!

Two of my little elves deliver the donations to Children's.
This year has been a wonderful year for ParentingPink.com. But for many families, this year has brought economic pitfalls and difficult times. I have always believed that one of the most important values we can pass on to our children is to teach them to have a “giving spirit.” No where is that spirit more prevalent then around the holidays.
As many of you know, Parenting Pink joins with companies, boutiques, and stores throughout the year to bring you wonderful family product reviews and giveaways. Our generous sponsor’s often send Parenting Pink “test products” and other goodies to help with the review and evaluation of their products so we can give our readers a fair and honest assessment. This year we’ve teamed up with our sponsors to “give back” to the community. ParentingPink.com in conjunction with giveaway and product review items, donated toys and apparel to the Children’s National Medical Center in Washtington DC (Children’s Hospital) this holiday season.
So many wonderful companies and boutiques have helped us bring the latest and greatest products to our readers throughout the year and that has inspired us to bring them to many children who need them most. My eldest daughter, now 6 years old, was a patient at Children’s Hospital in Washington DC when she was 10 months old. Thankfully she did not have cancer, but it was a close call. Having stayed with my young daughter in the oncology ward, I can tell you that these donations provide lots of smiles to the young patients and families who will spend the holidays (and many other seasons) in the hospital.
My three daughters (ages 2, 4, and 6, though two are pictured here) found it difficult to part with some of the fun items but quickly got in the “spirit of giving” by decorating the donation boxes and helped hand deliver these wonderful toys and apparel. We had two generous boxes of items and the staff was overjoyed. I am extremely grateful to those of you who sent donations and products so that not only our readers, but also needy children and families will now benefit from your charity.
Parenting Pink would like to thank all of the websites, companies, and boutiques who sponsored giveaways and product reviews with us this year and we thank you even more for your generous donations that allowed us to “give it forward.” Giving items to those in need this holiday season is truly a win-win for our sponsors and Parenting Pink. I hope to continue working with you and bringing our readers fabulous products in 2010! Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
