PART I:

Finally, books for tween girls that is actually informative, fun, and oh-so cool! Yes, I’ve found quite the cool “tweenie” hang-out. Come see, come see!

As many of you know, I am constantly scowering the internet for the best “girl” books, products, and gadgets to help our daughters develop from young girls into strong, resilient women. Recently, I was contacted by Donna Benson, an accomplished author and screenwriter who has developed a series of books for tweens to partner in our efforts to promote healthy girls. She writes a wonderful series of tween/preteen books called The Cupcake Club, which she describes as “The Cupcakes Club…girls with all the right ingredients® ”

cupcakes1.jpgMs. Benson describes her site as: “The Cupcakes Club is all about fun times and celebrating the girl you are today and the girl you can be tomorrow. What makes a Cupcakes girl extra special? The secret is wholesome goodness found inside each one. The Cupcakes Club are girls with the right ingredients.”

Her site and books are now prominently featured on ParentingPink and on this blog because I believe she is a wonderful writer with the power to inspire young girls to develop positive self esteem and establish lifelong healthy relationships. If you have a daughter in the 7-13 year old range, please be sure to check out her site. Girls can register for free and find a safe and fun environment to get answers to their questions, chat with other girls their own age, and, of course, discuss The Cupcake Club books. The website also features the following columns: Ask Audrie, Cupcakes Conversation, and Every Girl is a Cupcake. You may purchase books through Ms. Benson’s site, The Cupcake Club, or through venues like Amazon or B&N.

This is truly a wonderful opportunity to encourage your daughter’s to read and to connect with others their own age. The “girls only” website is interactive and will provide your daughter with fun and support.
